Reducing our dependency on energy from non-renewable sources such as coal is a mission of Younique Design + Build. For this reason, the use of solar, geothermal, multi-stage forced air systems and variable speed blowers are utilized to ensure the building uses energy in an efficient way while heating and/or cooling the home. Energy efficiency is important to both the client and the world since non-renewable energy pollutes our beautiful environment and is expensive.

The environment your live in and the quality of that environment depends on the conditions inside and how those conditions affect the Client. Having a quality indoor environment helps to protect our Client’s health, reduce common stresses, and improve the overall quality of life. Our green construction methods help us achieve this by the installation of operable windows that allow as much sunlight as possible enter the home and reduce our use of materials that may emit elements that could be dangerous to our Client’s health.

Water efficiency in new homes is often not indicated as important to many Clients. Water efficiency involves using our planets water resources in a manner that saves water and ensures generations for years to come enjoy a reliable supply of clean water. Our homes area available to utilize alternative sources of water by rainwater collection, reducing wasted water by installing plumbing fixtures that are more efficient.

Clients who live in Green Built homes enjoy many health benefits due to the safety of the materials used in the construction of their homes. Utilizing available products such as recycled woods that do not contain toxic materials, the use of non VOC emitting products and materials, the installation of air handling equipment and the benefits of knowing their home is simply healthier.

Material efficiency involves the use of physical process and materials in a manner that allows for the minimum use of materials without compromising the quality of the outcome; also, the processes should generate as little waste as possible. To achieve material efficiency, Green Building uses materials that are long lasting, recycle and reuse some products, design buildings in a manner that allow for the use of fewer materials and employ processes that use less water, raw materials, and energy. All these helps achieve material efficiency.
